By their very nature such portfolios will be matched to the very specific needs of each individual client and will include all or most of the main asset classes such as cash, bonds, property and equity but may include more alternative investments such as private equity, hedge funds, protected and or guaranteed investments. The portfolios also have a mix of fund holdings, direct equities, physical properties and commodities. While the investment management is the key focus, clients may choose to also receive advice on appropriate holding structures for their investments. Such advice can add to the investor experience by reducing the fiscal drag of the many charges and taxes that can inhibit investors returns.
